Northern Xinjiang Icy Landscape

The Northern Xinjiang is very much different from the south, at least 10-15 degree celsius. The landscape changed drastically as we went further north and up the mountains. The 2 well known scenic places are Hemu Village and Kanas Lake. Unfortunately, the bad weather obscured wonderful views and almost got us trapped in the mountain.

Dragon Backbone Rice Terraces (龙脊梯田) actually refers to several villages in Longsheng (龙胜) county. I stayed in Ping’an Village (平安庄) which had short walking access to Nine Dragons and Five Tigers (九龙五虎) and Moon Accompanied by Seven Stars (七星伴月).
